Love Your Neighbor As Yourself

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF

In Matt: 22:38-39, we are taught to “love thy neighbor as thyself”. But what if we don’t love ourselves? We all have things about ourselves that we don’t like. Whether they be of a temporal or a spiritual nature, we see them as flaws that make us less than perfect. We know we arn’t perfect and that we are here to have the opportunity to learn and grow from experiences but we can’t seem to accept that this is part of the plan. And, that it is ok. That we are ok.

We need to be aware of those things about us that need to be improved upon and seek ways to make the necessary changes realizing it will not happen overnight . But, While we are in this process of recognition and change, it will help us if we keep in mind those positive things we have already accomplished that are of an eternal nature. Things such as: We chose the Lord’s plan, we came to earth and received a body, we gained testimonies, we were baptized and so on. Each of us will have our own list that is unique to us. Keeping our focus on the progress we have made in our life’s journey so far, will help us to feel better about ourselves and therefore have a greater capacity for love for others.
